Educational Qualification – The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Police Candidates (GD) Post Qualification in Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board. Educational certificate other than State Board / Central Board should be accompanied with Govt. of India notification declaring that such qualification is equivalent to Matriculation / 10th Class pass for service under Central Govt.

Selection Procedure details – Sashastra Seema Bal Constable (Tradesmen) Selection Process is based on Document Verification, Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Written Test and Practical/Trade Test followed by Medical Examination.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – In the PET candidates will have to appear for Test which will test their caliber of those candidates who qualify in PST. Ex Servicemen are exempted for Physical Standard Test and Physical Efficiency Test.
Physical Standard Test (PST) – The candidates whose documents have been verified and those who are proven to be eligible will have to appear for Physical Standard Test which will assess if the Physical Measurement of the candidate is as per requirement as per the measurement given in the notification.
Medical Examination – Candidates must go through Medical Examination as the last stage of Selection Procedure. Those candidates who qualify all the stages of Selection Procedure will be put in order of Merit list and from that list the final selections will be made
Technical/Practical/Trade Test – After Written Examination candidates will have to qualify in Trade Test which carries 75 marks. To qualify Trade Test candidates must secure 50% marks and tools must be brought by the candidates themselves.
Written Examination – Candidates who qualify in PST and PET will have to appear for Written Examination. The Written Examination will comprise of 100 multiple choice questions of 100 marks with 2 hours duration. Topics covered would be general awareness, general knowledge, elementary mathematics, analytical aptitude and basic knowledge of the candidate in English/Hindi. Qualifying marks would be 35% for General and EXSM and 33% for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
Documentation and Registration – The documents of the candidates reporting with duly filled in application form in all respect as per Annexure-A and the copies of following certificates/ testimonials duly attested from a gazetted officer will be collected at the Recruitment Venue. The candidates whose documents are found in order will be issued admit card for further stages of Recruitment Process. The date and time of reporting for PET and PST will be mentioned in the Admit cards
Final Selection – After completion of Review Medical Examination, separate category wise selection list for SSB and BSF will be prepared on the basis of merit of written examination keeping in view the number of vacancies available. It is hereby emphasized that the candidates who merely secure the qualifying percentage marks and found medically fit, may not be considered for final selection since the cut off marks will be determined according to number of vacancies as well as after completion of whole recruitment process. Where equal marks have been obtained by candidates their merit will be fixed as per date of birth. The older candidate will be given preference and in case the date of birth is also the same, marks in the written test would decide the merit.
